d3efan Surprises the World once Again in 8-4-1
Tuesday, December 7, 2021
lepage71 - The 2021 NHRL Cup series finale was one for the ages. Talk about a showdown! Entering the last race at Michigan, the Overall Standings had been reduced to a mere formality, on the strength of a strong season by lepage71 with 9 victories and a flawless 12-top-5 finishes. The one other driver to have won was d3efan (3 times) despite a series of close calls for CR49. The 8-4-1 Title Chase, however, was a far different tale. The Final Four of d3, lepage, CR49, and AirBender all entered Michigan with an equal chance. A slow car hampered AirBender, who was making his first such appearance, right from the green flag. And after leading early, CR fell behind following a slow pit stop, leaving lepage and d3 dueling for nearly the entire second half of the event. A big reversal happened in the final corner of the race, of all times, where a shot tire forced lepage up the track and handed d3 the title. It was the second 8-4-1 crown for d3 after a similar shocker last season in trucks. All in all: it was a suitable end to a stellar season. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

2021 NHRL Cup Series Preview
Thursday, April 1, 2021
lepage71 - Oh, this is going to be good! Like clockwork, the league now cycles to its next series, and the related storylines and narratives in tow are not likely to disappoint. You know it: the 2021 NHRL Cup Series rolls into town on April 16th! Just as in 2020, we enter the Cup Series fresh off an incredible Truck Series, where the 8-4-1 Title Chase came down to a matter of inches and a surprising turn of events in the series finale. But that's not the end of the comparisons. Similarly, Cup also includes doubleheader races, a concept which made its debut in Trucks this year with much fanfare. Overall, the schedule spans 10 weeks, with our usual allotment of 12 races, stretching from the mid-spring to mid-summer. Equally of note, the 8-4-1 Title Chase should offer further theatrics, as none of the four host courses on the Cup schedule have ever before even hosted a playoff event. Need we state more? As with other series every Cup event will take place on Friday nights at 9:00 PM ET. Trust us. You won't want to miss one moment of the unfolding drama. Visit the league forum now to register for the series! Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Speedyman11 Earns Two-Fold Cup Series Victory
Monday, November 2, 2020
lepage71 - Speedyman11 is your Cup champion! Starting in 2020, the league introduced an exciting dual-championship format, incorporating both the old Overall Standings and the new 8-4-1 Title Chase. The revised system made its debut in the NHRL Truck Series earlier in the year and the final results were nothing short of spectacular. In the trucks, we saw a very close battle down the stretch, a dramatic championship finale at Charlotte, and our first-ever series co-champions in Speedy and d3efan. Most observors expected a similar set of fireworks as the calendar turned to the NHRL Cup Series. However, despite narrow margins in each race, Speedy was able to reunite the two-title system under a single crown, dominating the Overall Standings and claiming the 8-4-1 Title Chase at New Hampshire. In the process, he also led the series in a variety of major categories, most notably in wins, poles, top-5s, and laps led. His main competition during the season was lepage71, who made second-place a big theme throughout the campaign, finishing as the runner-up in both championships. In fact, a similar pattern was true across the entire standings table, as the top six drivers finished each championship in an identical order, including Rookiesrock in third, d3efan in fourth, CR49 in fifth, and viagra6car in sixth. Let's see if that ever happens again! No slouches, Bandit and Grumpy were the other key factors in the series, driving to the seventh and eighth positions in the Overall Standings and 8-4-1 Title Chase. Rated 5/5 (1 vote).

2020 NHRL Cup Series Starts April 17!
Thursday, April 2, 2020
lepage71 - The entire world might be shifting into lockdown mode but like the passage of the seasons the league is continuing to conduct business as usual. We're like a safe harbor on a dangerous sea. Our next series, the 2020 NHRL Cup Series, will begin at Watkins Glen on April 17, just two weeks after the 2020 NHRL Truck Series finale at Charlotte on April 3. As is often the case come this time of year, onlookers expect the NHRL Cup Series to showcase a variety of tough competition and unique strategies, given the powerful engines of the NHRLC11 mod. One especially novel and intriguing storyline will be the 8-4-1 Title Chase. The new alternate championship made a big debut in the Truck Series and will now make its second league appearance and first appointment with the Cup Series. Like recent series, every event will take place on Friday nights at 9:00 PM ET, sharp! Based on the trend in Cup, where 2018 produced wild finishes, and 2019 was a little more predictable, the series in 2020 should once again be one for the ages. Speedyman11 Soars to Cup Series Victory
Wednesday, June 26, 2019
lepage71 - On Friday at Sonoma, an exceptional NHRL Cup Series came to a close, with Speedyman11 wrapping up his second consecutive championship. He did so in impressive fashion. While Speedy ceded the season-opener at California to eventual runner-up lepage71, he would then embark on one of the strongest winning streaks in recent league memory, capturing six of the next seven events with a combination of good fortune and magical form. In a late run, lepage71 claimed races seven and eight, briefly threatening for a long-shot title, before Speedy closed down what had seemed inevitable. Despite the battle among the top two, several other drivers made big impacts during the series. Rookiesrock ran a limited schedule, but returned to the winner's circle at Talladega, pulling off a courageous late move. At third-place in the points, d3efan continued his popular comeback tour, missing out on a race win but threatening the big two on several occasions. In fourth, Jes Rathbun earned his second straight Cup Series top-five, after climbing to third on the podium in 2018. Bandit, meanwhile, completed the top-five, lacking slightly from his recent Truck Series speed, but demonstrating a consistency that suggests a win is not far on the horizon. Grumpy, in sixth, was the final driver scored for each race, wetting nary a set of undies Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

High Drama Expected during 2019 NHRL Cup Series
Friday, March 1, 2019
lepage71 - On March 15, the NASCAR Heat Racing League will make a quick transition to its next series, shifting from the NHRL Truck Series to the NHRL Cup Series in the span of one week. The league has also announced the official Cup schedule, which will span from late winter to late spring, or from March 15 to June 21 to be specific. As is often the case come spring, observers expect this year's NHRL Cup Series to generate a variety of tough competition and technical strategy, given the strong horsepower of the NHRLC11 mod. Surprises in Cup are likely to be plentiful, considering some of last season's headlines, like Grumpy's "storming of the beaches" to score his first title at Daytona, or BlackKnight's out-of-nowhere win in the season finale at Rockingham. Like recent series, every event will take place on Friday nights at 9:00 PM ET. The normal cast of all-stars will be in the field each week, as well as some recent returnees to NASCAR Heat circles, such as d3efan and viagra6car. In all likelihood, the series is shaping up to offer some high entertainment, so we wouldn't recommend missing even one minute of the action. Visit the forum now to sign up! Rated 5/5 (5 votes).

The Final Recap of the 2018 Cup Series
Thursday, August 30, 2018
lepage71 - It's official, Speedyman11 is this year's NHRL Cup Series champion! He did so on the strength of a sparkling 2018 stat line, including a series-leading 7 wins, 7 poles, and 471 laps led. The title, however, was a surprisingly close affair, as he triumphed in the standings by just 14 points (1863-1849). In second place, defending Cup Series champion lepage71 scored 3 victories of his own and led the league with a perfect 12 top-5 finishes, 105 bonus points, and a +35 rating. Overall, the 2018 Cup Series did not disappoint, providing a sequence of dramatic events. Foremost was Grumpy, who, in an astonishing performance at Daytona, "stormed the beaches" to land his first NHRL victory. Jes Rathbun, not to be forgotten, was consistent all series long, earning his first podium finish in the standings and contending on several occasions for victories. BlackKnight, in fourth, matched his best NHRL standings position and drove to his first Cup Series win at North Carolina. In fifth, Bandit continued his impressive rookie season, building on his sixth-place effort in Trucks and signaling his future transition into a contender. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

lepage71 Wins 2017 Cup Series Championship
Tuesday, July 4, 2017
lepage71 - We have a new champion! Well, at least in a short-term sense. After Speedyman11, who had claimed multiple, consecutive titles since 2015, announced a limited schedule for the 2017 NHRL Cup Series, an opening emerged for a new, yet also familiar figure to drive to the championship. In the case of the Cup Series, however, the advantage might not have mattered much. In 2017, lepage71 regained the Cup Series throne, edging out a group of tough competitors with a stellar performance, featuring 6 wins, a league-leading 353 laps led, and a perfect 12 top-5 finishes. Although still relatively modest, his margin in the standings, 78 points (1877-1799), was the largest gap since the 2013 Truck Series, where he won by 108. Despite missing several events, Speedy still finished second in the standings, an impressive feat accompanied by four wins. Rookiesrock, always a serious contender, took the third step on the podium with 9 top-5s, but surprisingly no victories. KartRacer had a breakout performance in fourth, earning his first two NHRL victories, including a late-race thriller at Texas over both lepage and Speedy. Breeze finished in the top-5 in the Cup standings for the second straight season. Rated 5/5 (2 votes).

Anticipation is sky high after the completion of our recent Truck Series, one which featured an abundance of storylines. A plethora of questions await Cup competitors. Will recent changes to the rules affect race strategies and outcomes? The Cup Series schedule, as expected, features a strong variety of courses, ranging from super speedways to road courses, including the series' debut at Road America T.
