Year-End Events

Post by lepage71 »

Alright, folks! Our series racing is over for 2020 and it's time to wrap up the annual calendar.

On that note, we'd welcome some suggestions for planning our two season-closing events. On Thursday, December 17th, we're hosting our eighth annual Holiday Derby, and on the following Friday night, we're holding our second edition of the Winter Welcome.

For a brief overview, most of what I wrote last season regarding these two special events remains the case again. We'd like to hear some ideas about mods, tracks, and formats for each race. We're merging the discussion into a single thread for convenience.

FYI. Here's the 2019 discussion: http://nascarheatracingleague.com/forum ... 39&t=12749.

Replicating the Welcome Series of last year should be good. Stick to the same family of tracks and use less wheel lock on the setups. What was the holdup between races last year? If we can tighten up the time between then that would be terrific.

The Bandit lawn mower mod idea sounds deranged enough to suit our purposes. I'll check it out. :meanlaughter

Meanwhile, I agree with v6 on maintaining the overall Winter Welcome / Fall Festival format. We'll hold 10 or so shootout races at 10 different short tracks. I think we can repeat some tracks and insert a few new ones into the rotation. We still need a mod for the event, though.

Is anyone familiar with the USAC Legends Mod by Hawbaker ? That's the most recent new short track themed mod that I see on TMS.
