Accessing the Controls Feature

Post by d3efan »

Has anyone else except me had problems seeing the controls feature (pedal and steering overshoot, undershoot etc.) with newer graphics cards/drivers? I can't remember how far back I've had this problem but it seems like since I installed a newer graphics card and drivers the controls page (while the buttons still work) is a big black screen with a large white dot in it. Any ideas? Thanks.

There's a thread or two on the modsquad about it.

I figured it out. I have an Nvidia card, simply go to the control panel and let the 3D application decide the performance. Bad thing is if you update the driver too much you can't see the game graphics anymore!

That's why my last video card purchase was an ATI card after being an Nvidia loyalist since like 1997!

With graphics cards it's like a shot in the dark anymore. Sometimes you get lucky and get one that works flawlessly with all the games you play and sometimes not. I got lucky with my last Nvidia card as it played everything fine. The Ati card I had before that not so lucky but they were nice enough to put out a driver patch for me, of course the next driver update after that screwed some other games up :laughing .
